Google voice apk6/29/2023 You can always port the GV number out to that VoIP provider later. That way if Google Voice goes away you need only forward the GV number to callcentric. Get an Obi 200 and configure it for Google Voice PLUS a service like Les.net, VoIP.ms or (get a $1 per month USA residential number here). Occasional missed calls on Android seem to be due to lack of mobile broadband usually. I do not believe they will become obsolete for existing configurations however, but I could be wrong. Poly will be ending Obitalk portal and support for Obi2XX devices. I have tried 3 accounts across 3 computers and 6 browsers. Obitalk forums are dodgy and I can log into portal currently but I click on the forums and I am not logged into forums. I have reported this on Obitalk forums and no fix. Sometimes after dialing an invalid number via Obi200 or Obi 202 The device seems unable to connect for a period of time (till next registration?). IN fact it also rings on her iPad so if she goes to where there is Wifi can answer or make calls on iPad. She has one number to give out that will reach her wherever she is. My 83 year old mother uses GV so her single number rings on her cell (forwarded to dumb phone) and at home (via Obi200 connected to a cordless). I have recently even moved that number to a different gmail account.Īsterisk by way of an Obi 202 (currently)GV APP on Android. I used google voice for many years when I lived in Mexico even and now back in the USA I continue using the same GV number. Moreover, I would be taking a chance that yeah, they can take over my Google Fi service but my 10-year-old GV number would probably be lost to me forever.Īs a long time Google Voice user (10+ years) I will say that Google Voice has worked very well for me. In all my communications with Google Fi, they are unable to explain the logic of correcting my Google Fi/GV problem by transferring service to one of their competitors. When I contact Verizon, AT&T, etc., they think this is whack and have no idea how to port a number they're going to discard to GV. Their best advice is to cancel my Google Fi account completely, get a new phone number for my Pixel, have the new carrier port my existing Pixel number (which is my old GV number) to GV and then, if I want, cancel my new carrier service and port my Pixel back to Google Fi. I have exchanged copious messages with Google Fi support. Keep in mind that some Google Voice numbers can’t be transferred to Google Fi.Īpparently, my Google Account falls into this category. If you have problems transferring your number to Google Fi, contact a Google Fi expert.
